Miami-Dade Days - Merch and pattern
Miami-Dade Days is an annual event in which leaders, organizations, and residents from Miami-Dade County travel to Tallahassee to advocate for the county’s priorities at the state level. As part of the event, the legislature collaborates with students to develop tie and scarf designs worn by politicians.
For my design, I chose to depict a coral reef and the biodiversity that makes South Florida’s coastal ecosystems so unique, while also incorporating the angularity of Miami’s architecture into the illustration. The piece serves as both a celebration of the region and a reminder of the threats posed by climate change and the urgency of addressing them before it’s too late.
